Meet Your Therapist:
Angelica De Anda, LMHC, CMHS, EMMHS
Hello! I’m Angelica.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, proud Latina, mom of a toddler, collector of random facts and plants. I help women and BIPOC professionals who are ready to explore how their past is affecting their present, increase self-worth, so that they can achieve their full potential.
I have been practicing counseling in Washington State since 2010 and have supported individuals spanning all ages (children, youth, and adults), socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds. I use a holistic approach to help my clients gain understanding of themselves and others.
In my years as a community mental health counselor, I learned to recognize the daily challenges faced by my teen clients navigating complex trauma. But teens eventually grow up to become adults and at times can find that the memories from their past were holding them back from reaching their goals. Through applying Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), I have been delighted to see my adult clients heal from their past, increase their internal self-worth, and take meaningful steps towards their future plans.
Taking the leap to start counseling can be scary, but it is one of the most beneficial ways a person can invest in themselves. I look forward to meeting you and starting this counseling journey with you!
HEre’s what I believe about therapy:
This isn't about becoming someone "different."
Therapy is a neutral space where you can figure yourself out—giving you a chance to reflect, discover your strengths, and really get to know yourself in a deeper way.
The best investment you can make is in yourself.
Taking the leap to start counseling can be a scary, but it is one of the most beneficial ways a person can invest in yourself. We will work together to address the things that are holding you back from living your life fully. You will be the driving force, I will guide you through the change.
We can have fun along the way.
Therapy won’t always be about diving into heavy topics; it can also be a space to lighten up, share a few laughs, celebrate your wins, and explore the brighter side of life. Embracing humor in therapy adds a refreshing balance to the journey of self-discovery and growth.
I want you to know:

A bit more about who I am:
I am a Millennial Latina - granddaughter of Mexican immigrants, daughter of Chicanos.
Throughout my life, I have lived with the tension of being a white presenting Latina and how that impacts the ways in which people perceive and respond to me. Not ‘brown enough’ for the Latino community but also not ‘white enough’ for the White American community. I often felt overlooked, unseen, or unheard. Through music, creativity, and the art of listening, I found a place of belonging. I went into the field of mental health counseling in order to support fellow Women of Color and Millennials in their healing healing journey.
my guiding principles for therapy
“I believe that therapy is a space where people can heal and grow, leveraging their own strengths towards accomplishing their goals.”
