ADJUNCT EMDR THERAPY

Collaborative Care to meet your clients' needs.

You find that trauma therapy isn’t really your thing.

You’re a therapist who enjoys the work that you do and the clients that you serve. You have established a great connection with a client but notice that therapy has become stalled. They might be dealing with trauma triggers, flashbacks, or somatic symptoms.

Or maybe your client is struggling with cognitions that won’t budge, like intrusive thoughts or negative beliefs about themselves. You’ve tried a few different interventions or techniques and you’re realizing this is outside of your expertise. Your client would benefit from trauma work, but you have more to offer them. You’re not sure how to move forward. Do you choose to refer them to another therapist or continue to navigate their trauma symptoms, doing your best even when you feel a bit beyond your scope?

INTRODUCING

ADJUCT EMDR THERAPY

What is Adjunct EMDR Therapy?

In Adjunct EMDR Therapy, two therapists team up to offer holistic and top-notch care for a client. During this collaboration, a client currently under the care of a primary therapist can work with a secondary therapist for a defined period, focusing on specific issues. These sessions can run concurrently, with the client meeting both therapists during a specific timeframe, or the client may briefly pause their work with the primary therapist to engage intensively with an EMDR Therapist.

How does Adjunct EMDR Therapy work?

The therapists work together to develop a personalized treatment plan for the client. With the consent of the client, client's approval, they can coordinate schedules to accommodate the client's needs. Once the agreed period for Adjunct EMDR Therapy concludes, the client resume to exclusively work with their primary therapist.
